In the 20th century alone, the Azerbaijani alphabet has changed 4 times. Our language has gone through suppression and fragmentation through colonization and assimilation. After all, it’s the first thing to take away when you want to erase a culture. My video installation depicts metaphorical mechanisms through which a language can be dismantled.
